Introduction of the project titled “The New Face of Poverty: An Action Research on Reflections of Urban Poverty on Education" was presented at the university.

It is a major project which will be conducted by the Faculty of Education in order to make the reflections of poverty on education visible and to develop an action program.

The project, led by Assoc. Dr. Vural Hoşgörür, will make great contributions to the education system of our city and will continue for two years.

With the project titled "The New Face of Poverty: An Action Research on the Reflections of Urban Poverty on Education" designed as the TÜBİTAK 1001 Project, the issues which are experienced by disadvantaged students living in urban poverty in Muğla will be investigated comprehensively. Within this scope, interviews will be held by site visits to households in areas where poverty is intense.

In addition, this project will make important contributions not only to our city but also to our region and country. In order to be implement similar projects in other cities, modular programs will be prepared and proposed to the necessary institutions for dissemination.
