A team of scientists from the United States of America and the Netherlands published the world's most influential scientists list, which consists of variables such as the number of scientific articles, number of citations, rank of authors, number of authors, self-citation rate, and which was created using the composite indexer scientific impact index.
The study, conducted on about 7 million researchers and listing the world's most influential 159 thousand 684 scientists in 22 departments and 176 sub-disciplines, was conducted under the coordination of Stanford University and was published in the scientific journal "PlosBiology".
In the study, 161 thousand 442 scientists were listed by examining the studies of approximately 7 million researchers who published at least 5 articles between 1996 and 2019 during their entire academic career.
From our university, Faculty of Technology Energy Systems Engineering Department academic staff member Prof. Dr. Ali Keçebaş, Science Faculty Chemistry Department Lecturer Prof. Dr. Mehmet Öztürk and Faculty of Engineering Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department Assoc. Dr. Akın Taşçıkaraoğlu was named among the "World's Most Influential Scientists".
