Our University Experimental Animal Application and Research Center (MSKÜ-MUDEM) has started its actions in Milas Veterinary Faculty. The center, which has a total closed area of 650 square meters, will serve all researchers who meet the necessary conditions, together with the researchers in our University.
MSKÜ-MUDEM applied to the General Directorate of Food and Control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for establishment licence last year. MSKÜ-MUDEM, which received the establishment licence in a short time, received a work permit covering production / supply / usage areas for mice, rats and rabbit species as of June 4, 2020.
MSKÜ-MUDEM, which consists of 3 areas: management floor, application floor and production floor, has all the technological possibilities to ensure animal welfare and enable researchers to work under appropriate conditions. In the center, digital humidity and temperature indicators, automatic and programmable ventilation, air temperature regulation equipment and gradable lighting systems have been installed in all indoor areas where experimental animals are produced and accommodated. In addition, the equipment of the basic laboratory has also been furnished.
MSKÜ-MUDEM, which has the capacity to host multiple research projects at the same time, will also allow transgenic animals and vaccination studies to be carried out in the upcoming period.
