Muğla Training and Research Hospital has become the “National Newborn HearingScreening Reference Center”.

The quality of the health care services the region needs is also increasing, along with successful studies carried out within the scope of Muğla Training and Research Hospital.

Within the scope of these studies, Audiology Center has been registered under the title “National Newborn HearingScreening Reference Center”.

In the Audiology Center under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Harun Üçüncü, Head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and under the responsibility of Assoc. Prof. Dr. ÇağılGökdoğan, hearing tests will be performed within the scope of the hearing screening program of newborn babies,thus, hearing loss will be detected in earlier stages. Following that, both babies and their families will be supported by post-diagnostic follow-up.The necessary audiological evaluations and program applications before and after the surgery of auditory implants (middle ear implants and cochlear implants, etc.) will be carried out by expert audiologists and audiometrists. In addition, Hearing evaluations of medico-legal cases will also be performed here since Muğla Training and Research Hospital is a referee hospital.
