All Maritime Waters of Turkey to be Analyzed at MSKU

Within the framework of the "Zero Waste" project, the "Sailing to the Future" team delivered water samples taken from all coasts of Turkey to researchers from Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (MSKU) Faculty of Fisheries for analysis.
The "We Sail to the Future" team had taken sea water samples from Artvin Hopa to draw attention to environmental pollution in the seas, to raise awareness on this issue and to support the "Zero Waste" project. Seawater sampling, which started on the Black Sea coast, continued throughout the Marmara, Aegean and Mediterranean region.
The water samples taken from all coasts of Turkey were delivered to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çağdaş Gönen, Faculty of Fisheries, by Murat Tan, captain of the boat We Sail to the Future on the Rota48 ship belonging to MSKU at the Karacasöğüt pier in Marmaris, with the participation of MSKU Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Sırrı Sunay Gürleyük.
Plastic pollution analysis will be carried out on sea water samples in the laboratories of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University. Thus, the profile of the pollution in our seas will be revealed by academic and scientific methods.
