3-month-old baby Mahmut Musey who was diagnosed multiple heart problems has been healthy again after the operation at our hospital. The Rector of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University visited him at the hospital.

Mahmut Musey who was the youngest child of the family that came to Muğla from Şanlıurfa to work was brought to the hospital upon his condition’s getting worse.

After the examinations made at the Department of Infant Cardiology, he was diagnosed complicated cardiovascular defects. The family looked for a well-equipped hospital which is capable of handling a complicated open heart operation and applied many hospitals and health centers in big cities. However, they were rejected because of the risks of the operation.

The Head of the Cardiovascular Surgery Department, Associated Professor Buğra Harmandar accepted the patient. After a very successful operation,Mahmut Musey regained health.

Ass. Prof. Buğra Harmandar described that the patient’s single ventricle functions were reconstructed to pump blood to the arteries. He says that as it is not possible to complete such a complicated new-born open heart operation in many cities, many patients apply our hospital as a result of the infrastructure of the hospital. He adds that
