The 2022 Barrier-Free Universities Awards, which were held to encourage the creation of a barrier-free ecosystem in universities, found their winners.
The awards, which were applied by 114 universities, were announced by YÖK President Erol Özvar at a ceremony held at YÖK. According to the results of the evaluation made by 34 panelists, 84 universities were entitled to receive a total of 385 flags. In the 2022 Barrier-Free Universities Awards, MSKU was awarded with two orange and one green flags.
The orange flag is given in the category of accessibility in the space, which means the arrangement of open, semi-open and closed areas for disabled individuals. As a result of the intensive work of MSKU Barrier-Free Campus Unit and the Department of Construction Affairs, the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Tourism were awarded the orange flag award. The green flag is awarded in the category of accessibility in education, which means the arrangements made so that all students can benefit equally from education. As a result of the dedication of the MSKU Barrier-Free Campus Unit and the academic and administrative staff of the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Faculty of Health Sciences won the green flag award.
MSKU Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Çiçek said that as MSKU, we have overcome the obstacles together this year and congratulated everyone who works with determination for a more accessible university.
